Green Oak Framed Buildings
Timber frame buildings have their own unique charm; at Sips UK we supplying increasing number builders with cladding panels for these types of buildings.
Traditionally the cladding system would be timber studs in filled with glass wool; the external face would then be weatherproofed with timber boarding or brick.
Sips offer a quicker, stronger and thermally more efficient alternative, as the panels do not have to take care of the compressive load of the building, timbers that may have been required for point loads can be eliminated, thus thermal bridging is kept to virtually nothing making these structures very efficient.
The use of Sips as cladding panels is considerably faster than constructing stud walls and then adding secondary insulation.
Steel and Concrete Portal Frames
Sips are being used increasingly for the cladding of steel and concrete portal frames, they are not just reserved for Green Oak structures, and these panel systems can have faces of CPB (cement bonded particle board) which can be directly rendered to eliminating the need for the traditional cavity wall which therefore increases the usable footprint of the building.
