The System
Sips UK have developed over many years a panelised building system which is based upon the structural insulated panel (sip).
These panels are incredibly strong and can be used for both the load bearing and non load bearing walls of almost any building.
Our building system is manufactured in a factory controlled environment under stringent manufacturing conditions using modern state of the art computer controlled machinery.
Sips UK panels are manufactured in hydraulic presses by pressure injecting polyurethane foam, which during the polymerisation process auto adhesively bonds to the faces of OSB3.
We manufacture three panelised systems
- Ready to Assemble (RTA), individually numbered panels that are able to be manhandled into place to form the building shell, often used for the smaller development where access may be restricted.
- Large Format Panel System (jumbo panels), elevation sized panels which are craned into place and joined to other panels to create the main structural shell of the building.
- Modular Building System (Pods), these are complete building sections that can be craned into place and joined to other sections to create the building.
Our building systems are used in the construction of virtually any type of building from a simple garden office through executive homes to four story flats and hotels.
Our building system works well with the combination of a number of other building materials
- Sip panels for the walls
- Pozijoists, for the intermediate flooring diaphragm or flooring cassettes
- Hollow core flooring systems for hotels and apartment blocks
- Standard trusses or attic trusses where sips would not be a viable option
- Glue lam beams and frames used in conjunction with sips roofing panels
Using the latest sips design software we produce a three dimensional panelised drawing of your project that we can manufacture from.
Once you have chosen to use Sips UK as your preferred supplier for your sip building system we will work closely with you, your architect and our structural engineer in creating a set of panelised drawings and a structural solution for your build.
